Welcome to Barton Specialist Centre( BSC) , This Centre is located in the middle of the Barton medical prescinct within the parliamentary triangle. The Barton Specialist Centre provides :
- Medical services to the Canberra community and it's surrounding. It has many doctors and allied Health professionals from different specialities consulting such as : ophthalmologists and ocular plastic Surgeons , a clinical haematologists, a sports physician, a neuropsychiatric, a urological surgeon, a renal Physician, a podiatrist, a diabetic educator.
- It offers doctors and allied health professionals high quality furnished or unfurnished consulting rooms . The rooms are available to be rented on a sessional basis or full time basis, with administration support if required. Receptionist Full time, Part Time , casual Flexible hours No weekend or Public Holidays work

1. Meet and greet patients. |
|
2. Provide frontline reception services, including answering phone enquiries and directing calls to relevant areas. |
|
3. Undertake theatre bookings procedures including: |
|
o Manage operating lists |
|
o Liaise and consult with Doctors and their receptionists, health funds, staff and patients. |
|
o Receipt and management of request for admission from Surgeon’s rooms |
|
o Data entry of patient demographics. |
|
o Prepare patient medical records to include all relevant documents required for specific admission types. |
|
o Effectively use a computerized patient management information system for data collection reporting and theatre billing |
|
o Knowledge of CMBS item numbers and prostheses, disposable and consumable items requirements for each case and advise the Nurse Manager of these requirements. |
|
4. Perform online eligibility checks and OPV to health funds and prepare informed financial consents. |
|
5. Seek approvals for admission of Defence personnel, compensation and third party patients. |
|
o Prepare informed financial consents. |
|
6. Cash management – receipt of payments for excess requirements from health fund patients or self-insured patient liabilities. (see cash management policy) |
|
7. Provide admission and fasting details to patients in a timely manner |
|
8. Print daily operating lists |
|
9. Email management, photocopying and filing. |
|
10. Management of electronic record keeping including scanning of medical records and archiving. |
|
11. Collection and distribution of mail |
|
12. Ordering of office supplies |
|
13. Daily ordering of patient refreshments |
|
14. Daily reconciliation of monies |
|
15. Debt recovery |
|
16. MYOB data entry and invoice management. |
|
17. Other duties as directed by Manager |
